Robert J. Bierworth, M.D.
Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates
Dr. Bierwirth received his undergraduate degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA, and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, WI. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency, a Gastroenterology Fellowship and a Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Bierwirth was selected to be Chief Medical Resident after completing his Internal Medicine Residency.
Dr. Bierwirth is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of The American College of Gastroenterology, The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, The American Gastroenterological Association and The Rhode Island Medical Society.
Dr. Bierwirth has additional expertise in Endoscopic Ultrasound.
He and his wife Kristen have twins, Joe and Kim. In his free time, Dr. Bierwirth enjoys playing hockey, skiing and pursuing his private pilot's certificate.
